From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Strategists tables.
Fans can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
