Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Currently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced service.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the final five points to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.

He rescued four initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
